  3. sunshine (:

Today I was greeted by rays of sunshine streaming into my bedroom. It was like God was reaching down and telling me, “Hey, guess what? I have something great in store for you today!” And He totally did! I spent a good majority of my day out in the sunshine just listening to good music, reading the good Word, and having a few conversations with some good friends.

Earlier this evening, I heard the ice cream truck outside, and I decided to jump right up and go buy a snow cone. I saw a girl from down the street approaching the truck right as I was finished paying, and before you know it, we were sitting on her front porch, chomping on our snow cones and having a fabulous conversation, just like we had back when we were both 10 years old.

It’s times like these that make me slow down and take in my surroundings, and realize what an amazing God we have! Tonight He showed me that we don’t have to just go through life in a monotonous way, but we should take time to look around and appreciate the little things.

This week has been such a life-changing one. I made the decision that I am definitely moving out in a few short months. I’m sad to leave my family behind, but also incredibly excited to start this new chapter in my life, and I know I’ll have God and my friends with me every step of the way! DOUBLE YAY!

:D I am just so excited to see what God has in store for me these next few weeks/months/years! Aren’t you???

So what’s been up in your lives lately, everyone!?

  4. february already?

Man that was quick! There’s only 11 months left of 2010; yikes!

The last few days have been pretty darn amazing though, not going to lie. Some things I’ve realized:

one) fam·i·ly b. Two or more people who share goals and values, have long-term commitments to one another, and reside usually in the same dwelling place.

I may not always have the greatest biological family support, but I have realized this past year that my friends ARE my family. They look out for me, and they always have my back. To my “family”, thank you so much for adopting me in!

two) School really isn’t all that bad. I know I complained a lot about it last semester, and how I didn’t really see the point since I had no clue what I was going to do with my life.

See the problems in that last sentence? The word “I” is waaay overused. What I should have realized is that it’s not me who’s in charge here, it’s GOD. He’s the one that I need to turn to for direction, because His answer is always going to be the right one!

three) Actually, there is no three for now, I just felt that a list of two things seemed a bit too short ;)

February 2010, bring it on. I’m ready!

  5. [Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

This is the song “Cinderella”, by Steven Curtis Chapman. I’ve had this song stuck in my head for the last several days, and I really like the reason it’s been tumbling around in there.

When I think about this song, I think back to summer camp with my church a few years ago. We had a wonderful speaker, Heather, who was constantly challenging my thinking. One particular night, she was telling us a story about how she had been in Austria, and had been invited to this fancy ball. She was dancing with a friend of hers, and even though she didn’t know what she was doing, the gentleman reminded her to “just keep your eyes on me”.

That’s how our relationship with God is. We may not always know all the steps to take, or even the right path to go down, but He’s always there to help us find the right direction, if we only let Him.

Just a little something for you all to think about ;)
